Search engines are a wonderful source to discover sites that cover your particular interest. LUKOL.com is one that searches through eight engines for you. I tend toward using GOOGLE.com first. It also searches Yahoo, and can usually zero in on what you want, without overwhelming you, if your search words are relatively specific.

For those who may be newbies at searching online, you often can go to a link, read the info there, then go to the home page and find even more information.  By doing this, I've learned answers to questions that I never thought to ask.

Listed below are a number of links useful for writers in learning their craft, marketing and promoting their books, and doing research. If you have any favorite links you would be willing to share, please send them in, and I'll post them here.

These first directory-type links are the most informative for writing and researching that I've seen. You could spend months just following links, to links, to links.

Here they are:

WRITING SOFTWARE

Writing software:
http://www.write-brain.com - I've never used writing software, so I can't make any recommendations. If you believe it can help you write, I'd suggest you check around to find some experienced customers--and what other software is available (a lot, I suspect)--before you buy. Some offer a free-trial demo. Try typing "free writing software" into a search engine such as Google.com.

Why Join AuthorZone.Com
(About AuthorZone)

When I (Rhonda Empson) published my first book I became eager to find a community of authors on the internet to hang out with, exchange ideas and talk about various issues and also a place that would offer various marketing services and a free web page for myself and a professional looking website.

Sadly, no such a place existed, until now. AuthorZone.Com is the first and only professional community website dedicated to authors but also a place where visitors and readers can come and read articles, short stories, and book reviews written by authors and editors alike.

We strongly encourage our member authors to write and submit articles to our website on issues important to them BECAUSE, potential customers interested in their book may want to see how prolific the author is before deciding to buy the author’s book. In other words, this site is also like an audition site or an intellectual gallery of materials on display. The materials remain in our database and can be edited, deleted or updated by the author who submitted it. We will also advertise our website on other major websites to bring visitors to YOUR materials.

www.bookmarket.com - This site has a large amount of information, some of which is fee-based.
"If you are into book marketing, book promotion, free publicity, self-publishing, e-publishing, print-on-demand, or selling your books, you've come to the right site." — John Kremer, editor, Book Marketing Update newsletter
